Protofans is an unofficial Protomen fan blog consisting primarily of photos and videos, though we also sometimes post merch info, tour dates, show recaps, and other neat things. We welcome submissions and questions, but please read the following submission guidelines:

  1. We will not post any photos of band members not in their makeup or costumes, or which are otherwise obviously out of character, or anything from which band member real names can be figured out. Just respect their privacy and the real world / on stage divide and you’re good to go. (This does mean that we don’t cover side projects of band members, for the most part, but that information is available elsewhere.)
  2. If you’re submitting something you yourself did not create, try to find the original source and give them credit. This includes photos, videos, etc. Similarly, if you find something you created that has been posted here and you’d rather it were not here, just drop us a line and we’ll take it down.
  3. Although we totally respect the talented artists who produce all the Protomen-related fan art out there, it isn’t going to get posted here. Similarly, we don’t post fan fiction or cosplay. But take heart, because fuckyeahprotomenfanart is another great blog that does post fan art.
  4. Submissions should be directly related to the Protomen, not just the Mega Man games. Important news about particular Protomen fans is fine, too (see this story for an example), but generally your submission should have something to do with the band.

This blog is curated by three people, one of whom is Emma Story. The other two would prefer to remain anonymous but wish to assure you their intentions are not sinister.

We are often asked if the band knows about this blog, and if so what they think of it. We’re pleased to say that we’ve had positive feedback from several band members, some of which has been documented on the blog (see comments from The Reanimator and Ringo Segundo). We are committed to respecting the privacy and offstage lives of our favorite robot rockers.
